    Meet Team Manchester Debbie Rocket

    razorblue recently expanded into Manchester following the acquisition of J-Media Managed IT services in February. Growing the business in the North West has seen the addition of several new team members, benefitting the existing razorblue team with new technical experts, whilst also growing our client base throughout the North West.

    We asked some of the Manchester based team a few questions about the world of IT and how they felt about joining the razorblue team…


    What do you like most about working in the world of IT?
    Each day is different. There are always new technologies, new systems, clients wanting different set-ups and implementations. We are always learning something new. Working with clients and helping them create bespoke IT solutions and watching their networks evolve is fulfilling. It’s also very satisfying when you fix something that has been a little awkward, and it gives you the confidence to utilise your knowledge and skills on all sorts of IT solutions that other professionals steer clear of.


    What piece of advice you would tell anyone wanting to get into a role in the IT industry?
    We received several great pieces of advice:

    • Find out what your passion is and find a role that suits so that you can progress in that role.
    • Work at a multi-service provider where you will be exposed to a wider range of systems and technologies.
    • Make people aware of your specialism so that your experience can be utilised and so that you can grow and develop your skills too.


    How have you found working with razorblue?
    It’s been great joining a company who have similar ethos, working values and aspirations for the future. As a team, we are very dynamic and love learning. Having exposure to a bigger company with bigger opportunities is very exciting for both us as professionals, but also for existing J-Media clients. We’re really enjoying being part of the razorblue team!


    What do you think are the top 3 benefits of joining the razorblue group?
    • Bigger team -more experience to support clients
    • Broader range of services that we can offer to customers – including out of hours support, improved help desk feedback system, client portal and feedback reports
    • Better venue for our Christmas party – we can’t wait!


    Craig – Regional Director

    As the team manager, I really enjoy working alongside a motivated team, implementing IT Solutions that are bespoke to individual clients’ needs. Meeting with and advising clients is my favourite part of the job. I worked with J-Media for 15 years and before that worked in an internal IT role in a medical communications company. Believe it or not, before that I was paid to test play station games – it was a hard life!


    Graeme – IT Manager

    Similarly to Craig, I really enjoy visiting client sites, meeting them and being client facing. It’s great to get out an about and conceptualise how an IT solution can be put into practice. As an IT professional, my background covers all areas of IT solutions. I worked at J-media for 13 years, and before then worked as an IT engineer for an internal company. Bring on a great future at razorblue!


    Connor – Helpdesk Engineer

    I’d been in my role at J-Media for about 18 months, and before that at another Managed Services IT Company. My background is in software and I thoroughly enjoy fixing problems and finding solutions to projects that often seem impossible from the outset – it’s great to utilise my creativity to think outside of the box.


    Chris – IT Manager

    For me, networking and virtualisation is the best part of the job for me. I really enjoy the technical elements and finding solutions to tricky IT scenarios. Nothing’s ever impossible in the world of IT. I was in my role at J-Media for 10 years and before that 2 years at a company in a similar role. I’m looking forward to the future at razorblue.


    Stuart – IT Manager

    I’m going to go all out and state that I’m the Office 365 guru! I really pride myself on excellent customer service and learning something to the best of my capability – anything Office 365 is my remit! I worked at J-Media for 7 ½ years and previously worked in an internal IT role where I progressed from Help Desk to IT Manager. Joining razorblue means big possibilities for clients, the team and also the future; it’s an exciting time to come on board!


    With a few of the team out and about on the road, we didn’t get the opportunity to ask the full team about their experience in the IT world, but hopefully this tells you a little more about the Manchester team. A huge welcome to our Manchester Team! #teamrazorblue
